Wrestling Freestyle
Overview
- A pair of athletes use grappling techniques against each other, with the winner being the one who manages to get both of the opponent’s shoulders on the mat (fall), or the one who gains the most points by executing successful moves.
- In freestyle wrestling, athletes use both offensive and defensive moves using their entire body, and perform tackles to get their opponent off balance.
Features as deaf sport
Same international regulations as hearing sport are applied to deaf sport.
The difference lies in how athletes are informed of the start, end, and suspension of their competition. Since this cannot be done by sound, they are kept informed by using gestures to indicate that it is their turn and other such means to satisfy the need to be visually signalled.
At the TOKYO 2025 DEAFLYMPICS, we consider ways to ensure athlete to be concentrated on competition.
