The Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the TOKYO 2025 DEAFLYMPICS will be held at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium on Saturday 15 November and Sunday 26 November 2025.
Under the theme "Enjoy Communication Together," the ceremonies will celebrate Deaf culture and showcase the appeal of Tokyo and Japan. They will also promote mutual respect and self-expression by embracing our differences.
The ceremonies will feature the parade of athletes, the opening declaration, the athletes' oath, and an artistic program that expresses the host country's culture.
We are pleased to announce that applications for general admission to these symbolic events of the Games are now open.
We invite everyone to apply and be part of this special occasion!
Application Details
(1)Date & Venue
- Opening Ceremony: Saturday 15 November 2025 - 4:30 p.m to 7:00 p.m (scheduled) Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium
- Closing Ceremony: Wednesday 26 November 2025 - 4:30 p.m to 6:00 p.m (scheduled) Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium
Details regarding venue opening times will be announced separately.
(2)Admission Fee
Free of charge
Please note that any fees related to payment and ticket issuance will be borne by the applicant.
(3)Ticket Categories
Applications are being accepted for the following seat types:
- Approximately 1,500 seats available for the Opening Ceremony
- Approximately 2,500 seats available for the Closing Ceremony
Please note that if the number of applications exceeds the available capacity, a lottery will be held.
① General Seating
Up to 4 people may apply as a group.
② Family Priority Seating
- Available for groups that include at least one child aged 12 or younger on the date of the ceremony (Opening or Closing).
- Groups must consist of 2 to 4 members, including at least one child aged 12 or younger.
- If an infant or toddler will be using a seat, please be sure to include them in your group when applying.
③ Wheelchair Accessible Seating
- For individuals using a wheelchair and one accompanying person.
- Applications may be submitted for up to 2 people per group (including one caregiver).
- If you use a wheelchair, please apply for this seating category.Viewing will be from designated wheelchair-accessible areas.
(4)Application Period
From Thursday, 7 August 2025 at 2:00 p.m. (JST) until Sunday, 31 August 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (JST)

Applications by phone or postcard will not be accepted.
(6)Notification of Results
Notifications are scheduled to be sent on Friday, 19 September 2025.
Results will be sent to the email address of the representative applicant. Please ensure you can receive emails from "@eplus.co.jp".
(7)Ticket Issuance Method
- Admission tickets will be issued using the system operated by e+ (Eplus Inc.).
- You can choose between digital tickets (QR code) and paper tickets:
① Digital Ticket (QR Code)
Tickets are free of charge. However, due to system constraints, you will be required to select a payment method during the registration process. Please follow the instructions on the screen and select "Convenience Store/ATM" as your payment option.
② Paper Ticket
Tickets are free, however, please note that various handling fees may apply when issuing the ticket.
If paying by credit card, a system usage fee of ¥220 and an in-store issuance fee of ¥165 per ticket will be required.
Important Notes Regarding Applications
- Each person may apply once for each ceremony (Opening and Closing). Multiple applications for the same ceremony may result in all applications being invalidated.
- If the number of applications exceeds the available capacity, a lottery will be held.
- Please note that changes to accompanying persons will not be allowed after selection.
- Transportation and accommodation costs will be borne by the applicant.

Please refrain from transferring your ticket to another person. The resale of tickets, listing them on auction sites, exchanging them for cash, or any other form of transfer is strictly prohibited. Tickets cannot be resold, cancelled, or re-listed for resale under any circumstances.
- On the day of the event, identity verification may be required for all attendees aged 18 and over, including accompanying persons. Please bring a valid photo ID.
- Seats will be assigned by designated area only, please note that, depending on your seat, parts of the stage may not be fully visible.
- Please use public transportation to access the venue.
- Please be aware that photographs and video footage taken by the organisers or media on the day may be published in various promotional materials, reports, and media outlets.
- The ceremonies are scheduled to be streamed online.
- Additional details and important information will be posted on the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics official website and the e+ special site. Please ensure you check these in advance before applying.

About the Deaflympics:
"Deaf" refers to individuals who are unable to hear. The Deaflympics is an international multi-sport event for athletes who are Deaf or hard of hearing. Held every four years, the Games include both Summer and Winter editions. Various adaptations are made to support Deaf athletes.
The upcoming Tokyo Games will mark the 100th anniversary of the Deaflympics.
