Universal Chat Board (Pointing Board)
To enable quick and easy communication between people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or using different languages, we created the Universal Chat Board (Pointing Board) for the TOKYO 2025 DEAFLYMPICS.
What is the Universal Chat Board?
- The Universal Chat Board enables quick and easy communication between people who are hearing, deaf, or using different languages.
- The name ‘Universal Chat Board’ reflects our hope that everyone (universal) can enjoy communication freely and casually (chat) with anyone.
- The board features practical icons that can be used not only during the TOKYO 2025 DEAFLYMPICS, but also in various everyday situations. Please feel free to use it as a helpful tool to initiate communication in many different settings!

How to Use
There are two types that are convenient for different uses. Both types share the same back design. There is also a space for written communication.
Please feel free to use them according to the situation and your communication needs.
A4 Version
This version displays all icons at once, making it convenient for use on a counter or table. You can print it out or download it to your smartphone or tablet and zoom in on the icons for easy use.
A6 Version (Foldable into Quarters)
This version can be folded for easy carrying in a pocket or bag.
Please print on both sides before use.
