Athlete Delegation Liaison
About Athlete Delegation Liaison
-
To ensure effective delivery of information from the LOC, a Liaison will be assigned to each National Athlete Delegation during the Games Time.
- Each Liaison will accompany the Representatives of National Delegations. In principle, one Liaison will be assigned per country/region.
- The language of each Liaison will be English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, German, or Arabic, as allocated by the LOC. (Japanese support is also available.)
※While LOC will try to accommodate language preferences of each countries, please note that it may not always be possible to assign a Liaison in the first-choice language.

| Meeting Point | The initial meeting between the Liaisons and the Representatives of National Delegation will, in principle, take place at the Deaflympics Square. The Liaisons and the Representatives of National Delegation can meet at the Chef de Mission Meeting held at the Deaflympics Square on 14 November. (See below for details of the Chef de Mission.) |
Information for Athlete Delegations
- During the Games Time, the LOC will provide various information and updates with Athlete Delegations.
- Information will be sent to the email address in the format (Country 3-letter code)@ciss.org.Please ensure that this email account can be accessed and checked regularly during the Games Time.If you need any help for checking information from the LOC, your assigned Liaison will provide assistance.
Survey on Athlete Delegation Liaison
- To ensure smooth matching between each athlete delegation and the Liaisons, please provide information about the Representative of National Delegation in advance.
- Before submitting your response, please review the Regulations on the Handling of Personal Information available in the form below, and complete the form by the specified deadline.
- As a communication tool between the Representatives of National Delegation and the Liaisons, we are planning to use the messaging application'WhatsApp'.
※We are currently considering allowing contact between the Liaisons and Representatives of National Delegation prior to your arrival in Japan.

Notes and Instructions Regarding Athlete Delegation Liaison Officers
- Liaison Officers are not International Sign interpreters . Communication will be conducted through spoken/written languages or via translation devices and other tools.
- Athlete Delegation Liaison Officers are assigned solely to provide support related to the Games.They cannot respond to or accompany delegations for matters unrelated to the competition, such as personal or private requests (e.g., sightseeing).
- It is strictly prohibited to ask for or exchange personal contact details with your Liaison Officer.
- Delegations must not request Liaison Officers to handle or deliver any goods or money.
- Do not contact Liaison Officers outside their assigned working hours.

Chef de Mission Meeting
Chef de Mission Meeting Overview
- This meeting is held for Representatives of National Delegations to share information, raise issues and concerns, and seek solutions regarding operations and services.
- A question-and-answer (Q&A) session is scheduled for the latter part of each meeting.

Explanations from ICSD, Opening Ceremony (announcements and transport),
Delegation Transport to Competition Venues, and other various service details.
